The State of Unconsciousness

There is a State that often arises just before the deepest Awakenings, one that is rarely spoken about and even more rarely understood. It is a State that appears not full of vision, not brimming with Light, not vibrating with Sound, but one that seems to hold Nothing at all.

It might arrive quietly after long Meditation, or suddenly in daily life, like a fog lifting from the mind, leaving behind a Stillness so complete it feels as though the self has vanished. No colours. No messages. No Angels or cosmic Energies. Just absence. But not a cold absence. Rather, a soft blankness, a non-Consciousness that isn’t sleep and isn’t death, but somehow seems to contain both.

In this State, the usual markers of Awareness fall away. There are no thoughts to observe, no sensations to feel, no sense of a Watcher behind the eyes. And yet, paradoxically, something is. It is not experience in the usual sense. It is not even Awareness in the way we speak of Spiritual Awareness. It is like a pause between Worlds, where neither the ego nor the Spirit is at the forefront.

For those who encounter it, it can be disorienting. Some mistake it for a lapse, a Void to pass through quickly. Others fear it, believing they have lost their way or fallen asleep. But this State is far from a mistake. It is, in many cases, a Threshold.

If Enlightenment is what comes after, this is what stands just before.

There is profound value in acknowledging it. Not to seek it, but to recognize it when it comes, not as an end, but as a doorway. For many, Enlightenment does not burst in with a blaze of golden brilliance, but arises from this quiet dissolution, from the letting go so complete that even Awareness itself seems to disappear.

And then, from that place where there is Nothing, something Eternal begins to shine.

This forgotten State this pure not-knowing, may be the very ground from which the Light is born.
